A project brief is useful only when it makes expensive decisions easier. The Digital Project Blueprint Kit turns a website or app idea into a comparable scope, visible cost range, testable requirements, vendor decision, launch gate and company-owned handover. It is designed for founders, product owners and operations leads who need to buy digital work without surrendering the method to a supplier.

What this kit helps you decide

Most website project brief templates stop at goals, audience and a feature list. Most app PRD templates stop before vendor comparison, acceptance evidence, account ownership and exit. This system connects those decisions so a low proposal cannot quietly omit QA, recovery, analytics, migration or handover.

  • Define the business outcome, user job, scope boundary and release decision before collecting quotes.
  • Build low and high effort/cost scenarios from editable hours and rates instead of one unexplained total.
  • Compare suppliers against criteria and evidence agreed before proposals arrive.
  • Trace requirements into acceptance tests, launch gates, defects and retained evidence.
  • Transfer accounts, source files, billing, backups, recovery and admin ownership to the business.

Exactly what is included

Digital Project Blueprint workbook — 19 tabs

The master XLSX includes a READ ME plus Project Summary, Objectives, Users, Requirements, Cost Scenarios, Budget, Timeline, Assumptions, Dependencies, RACI, Risks, Vendor Scorecard, Acceptance Tests, Launch Plan, Ownership, Handover, Change Log and Decision Log. Formula regions are protected against accidental edits; the protection password is documented and is not a security control.

Three focused Excel workbooks

  • Vendor Interview & Scorecard: criteria, evidence anchors, structured interviews, weighted comparison and reference checks.
  • Acceptance Test Plan: requirement coverage, test evidence, defect decisions, retesting and a formula summary.
  • Access, Ownership & Handover Register: company owners, supplier handoff and verified access revocation—without credential fields.

Three editable Word templates

  • Website Project Brief for strategy, content, design, build, analytics, acceptance and operating ownership.
  • App Product Requirements Document for MVP boundaries, roles, data, integrations, risks, release and recovery.
  • Digital Project Request for Proposal for comparable vendor answers, evidence and commercial assumptions.

Two completed examples

A service-business website and a booking application show how objectives, requirements, cost ranges, risks, acceptance tests and ownership records work together. They are examples to inspect and replace, not promises about your project price.

The ZIP also contains an eight-page START HERE guide, a plain-language licence, changelog, file manifest and SHA-256 checksums. There are 14 files in the versioned archive.

How to use it without creating template debt

  1. Read START HERE and make a clean working copy of the master workbook.
  2. Complete the project decision, outcomes, user jobs and release boundary before detailed requirements.
  3. Enter your own rates, hours, assumptions and dependencies; do not treat the example range as a quote.
  4. Agree vendor criteria and acceptance evidence before proposals or development begin.
  5. Close launch only when acceptance, recovery and company ownership evidence exist.

Who it is for

  • A founder commissioning a service website, ecommerce site, portal or booking product.
  • A product or operations lead preparing an app MVP for internal approval or external delivery.
  • A business comparing agencies, freelancers or development partners on more than headline price.
  • A team replacing scattered briefs, spreadsheets and supplier-controlled handover notes with one owned record.

Who should not buy it

Do not buy this for an instant supplier quote, a technical architecture, legal advice or a promise that a launch will succeed. A complex, regulated or security-sensitive build still needs qualified discovery and review. The files provide decision infrastructure; they do not replace accountable judgement.

Try the method before you buy

Use the free Website Cost Calculator & Scope Planner or App Development Cost & Requirements Planner. If the result is ready for implementation, see RankThread web design and development or app development.

Buying more than one system? The Complete Growth Infrastructure Bundle includes this kit plus the Growth Operations Command Center and the Client Delivery & Delegation OS for £149 — £58 less than buying the three separately.

Frequently asked questions

Is this only a website project brief template?

No. It contains a website brief, an app PRD and a connected delivery-control system for requirements, costs, vendors, risks, acceptance, launch and ownership.

Does the workbook calculate a project quote?

It calculates editable planning scenarios from the hours and rates you enter. It is not a binding quote and cannot inspect hidden dependencies or legacy systems.

Can I share it with an agency or developer?

Yes. The single-business licence allows the purchasing entity and its contractors to use working copies for that entity’s project. It does not allow resale or template redistribution.

Does it store passwords?

No. Ownership and access fields deliberately record owners, permission levels, grant methods and revocation evidence—not credential values.

Which applications open the files?

The editable files use XLSX and DOCX formats. Current Microsoft Excel and Word provide the intended experience; compatible office suites may display or calculate some features differently.

Are future versions included?

Your download is the named version shown here. The included changelog and checksums make version changes explicit; future major products or services are not silently promised.
